The temple of Ichchhakamana is located in the North-Western part of Makwanpur District and is said to be a counterpart of the Manakamana Temple of Kaphek Gorkha -- both of the temples are built on high hills and face each other. She is named Ichchhakamana because of her ability to fulfil the desires of her devotees.
According to legend, the Manakamana of Gorkha and Ichchhakamana were sisters who fell out with each other, and in doing so cursed each other; thus, the former was condemned to receive sacrifices of animals such as pigs, and the latter to dwell in a place where she'd receive no visitors. And true to the story, while thousands of people visit the Manakamana of Gorkha daily, only a handful of devotees make their way to the Ichchhakama Temple. The temple itself is believed to have been constructed by Mukunda Sen and is a simple two-roofed structure housing a finely crafted idol of the deity
