तनहुँ जिल्लाको छाब्दी वाराही गाउँमा छाब्दी वाराहीको प्रसिद्ध मन्दिर छ । छाब्दी खोलाको शिरमा रहेको यो मन्दिरस्थलमा एउटा कुण्ड पनि छन् । यस कुण्डमा माछाका रूपमा सत्यवतीको जन्म भएको जनविश्वास छ । छाब्दी वाराही र तनहुँकै ढोर वाराही दिदीबहिनी मानिन्छन् । यहाँ रजस्वला भएका स्त्रीहरूले मात्रै होइन, तिनका श्रीमान्ले पनि दर्शन गर्नु हुँदैन भन्ने मान्यता छ । यहाँको कुण्डका माछा मरेमा पुजारीले तिनको सद्गत हिन्दू परम्परा अनुसार कोरामा बसेर गर्नुपर्ने नियम छ । छाब्दी वाराही परिसरमा भीमसेनको मन्दिर र अन्य देवीदेवताका मूर्तिहरू पनि छन् । वाराहीस्थानमा पशुबलि दिने चलन छ । आंैसी, एकादशी र साउन महिनामा भने बलि दिन पाइँदैन ।
The Chhabdi Barahi Temple is located in Chhabdi Barahi Village, Tanahun District. It is the source of the Chhabdi River, which flows from a small pond in the temple compound. It is believed that Satyavati was born here in the form of a fish, and fishes play an important role in the cultural traditions of the temple. Death rites in keeping with Hindu traditions are performed for fishes that die here, with the priest playing the role of the son of the fish.
Along with that of Satyavati there are idols of many different gods and goddesses in the temple compound, including a temple of Bhimsen. Dozens of goats are sacrificed to Barahi every month. However, no animal sacrifice takes place during Aunsi, Ekadashi, and the month of Shrawan. It is also believed that menstruating women and their husbands should not visit the temple.
