पर्साको विन्ध्यवासिनी माईको मन्दिर वि.सं. १९४४ सालमा तत्कालीन राजा पृथ्वीवीरविक्रम शाहले बनाउन लगाएका हुन् । तर यहाँ त्यसअघिदेखि नै विन्ध्यवासिनीका नाममा सामान्य शिलामा पूजाआजा गर्ने चलन थियो । यी देवीको स्थापना सम्भवतः सिम्रौनगढका कर्नाटकवंशी शासकका पालामा भएको हो । त्यसैले यो मन्दिरको ऐतिहासिक महइभ्व अत्यधिक छ । सामान्य मन्दिरमा पुजिने यी देवीका लागि सर्वप्रथम राजा रणबहादुर शाहले गुठीको व्यवस्था गरेको देखिन्छ । त्यसपछि नै विन्ध्यवासिनीको आकर्षण र ख्याति पनि बढेको हो । यस मन्दिरमा अचेल भने विन्ध्यवासिनीको धातुको आकर्षक मूर्ति राखिएको छ । भक्तहरूको मनोकांक्षा पूरा गर्ने देवीका रूपमा यिनको पूजाआजा गर्ने चलन छ । विन्ध्यवासिनी भेगमा सधैंजसो भक्तहरूको भीड लागिरहने भए पनि दशैंको नौरथाको समयमा भने ज्यादा घुइँचो हुने गर्दछ । चैतेदशैंका अवसरमा पनि यहाँ मेला लाग्ने गर्दछ ।
The Bindhyabasini Temple of Bara was built by King Prithivi Bikram Shah in 1887 AD at the site of an earlier temple -- a much simpler structure which itself had replaced the rock that had been worshipped as a symbol of the goddess, Bindhyabasini. Later, according to recently-found document, King Rana Bahadur Shah provided some more land and made donations to manage the expenses of the temple.
Today, the temple houses a fine metal statue of the Goddess and it is the scene of large fairs during the festivals of Navaratra and Chaite Dashain. A large number of people also visit the temple on a daily basis, as the deity is a popular one and is said to fulfil the wishes of her devotees.
