काठमाडौंको त्रिपुरेश्वरमा कालमोचनघाटको नजिकै प्रसिद्ध त्रिपुरेश्वरको मन्दिर छ । तीन तलाको छाना भएको यस मन्दिरलाई उपत्यकाको सबैभन्दा ठूलो मन्दिर मानिन्छ । यो मन्दिर इसाको उन्नाइसौं शताब्दीमा ललितत्रिपुरसुन्दरी देवीले स्थापना गर्न लगाएकी हुन् । यस मन्दिरका तीन वटा छानामध्ये माथिका दुइटामा धातुको पाता मोरिएको छ भने तलको एउटा छानो चाहिं झिंगटीले छाइएको छ । यो मन्दिर तहतह परेको अग्लो पेटीमा निर्माण गरिएको छ । यसका टुँडाल र तोरण ज्यादै आकर्षक छन् । त्रिपुरेश्वर महादेवका रूपमा मन्दिरभित्र रहेको शिवलिंगमा पूजाआजा हुने गर्दछ । मन्दिरभित्र सादा शिवलिंग छ । त्यसको छेउछाउ विष्णु, सूर्य, गणेश र देवीका मूर्तिहरू पनि छन् । बालाचतुर्दशी, शिवरात्रि र साउनभर यहाँ भक्तहरूको भीड

The temple of Tripureshwor Mahadev near the Kalamochan Ghat, is the largest temple in Kathmandu Valley, built by Lalit Tripura Sundari Devi in the nineteenth century, it has three roofs -- the upper two crafted of metal, while the bottom one is of baked terracota -- and sits on a raised platform. While the struts and toranas are of great artistic value, the object of worship itself is a simple Shivalinga surrounded by idols of Vishnu, Surya, Ganesh, and Devi. The temple is quite popular as a religious site during Shivaratri, Balachaturdashi, and also during the month of Shrawan.
