डडेलधुरा सदरमुकामबाट पाँच किलोमिटर उत्तर उग्रतारा गाउँमा दशरथ चन्द राजमार्गछेउमै उग्रतारा देवीको मन्दिर छ । शक्तिपीठ उग्रतारालाई सन्तान दिने, आफन्तको मिलन गराउने र प्राकृतिक विपत्तिबाट जोगाउने देवीका रूपमा लिने गरिन्छ । यी देवीको उत्पत्तिका बारेमा स्थानीय तहमा प्रचलित किंवदन्ती अनुसार, यस भेगमा साउद थरका एक व्यक्तिले हलो जोतेको समयमा बारीमा भेट्टाएर यो मूर्ति तत् स्थानमा प्रतिष्ठापन गराएका थिए । हलोको फालीले भेटिएको शिवलिंगलाई चोट लाग्दा त्यहाँबाट रगत आएछ र ती हलीले आपूmले खान ल्याएको खिचडीले त्यो घाउ टालिदिएका रहेछन् । तसर्थ हालसम्म पनि उनैका सन्तान साउदहरू यस मन्दिरका पुजारी रहेका हुन् भन्ने मान्यता छ । परापूर्वकालमा बनेको मानिने डडेलधुराको उग्रतारा मन्दिर डोटेली राजा नाग मल्लले विक्रमको तेह«ौं शताब्दीमा पुनर्निर्माण गराएको मानिन्छ । पछि राजा वीरेन्द्रको समयमा मन्दिरको जीर्णोद्धार गरिएको थियो ।
वैशाख पूर्णिमा, साउन पूर्णिमा, दशैं, माघे संक्रान्ति र कात्तिक पूर्णिमामा यहाँ मेला लाग्ने गर्दछ । यसबाहेकका अवसरहरूमा समेत श्रद्धालुहरू यहाँ पुग्ने गर्दछन् ।
 

 

The Ugratara Temple is located in Ugratara village in Dadeldhura District. As the local goddess of fertility and wealth she is very much revered by the people of the region. She is also said to help to bring together friends and relatives who have lost contact with each other, and to protect the villagers from natural disasters.

According to local legend, the idol of the goddess was discovered when a man of the Saud family was ploughing his field. He established a temple in her honour and became its first priest. The temple was later renovated by Nagmalla, the King of Doti, and King Birendra also assisted in further renovation. Baisakh Purnima, Navaratra, Maghe Samkranti, and Kartik Purnima are the main festivals celebrated at the temple, and thousands of pilgrims arrive to wroship the Goddess during these occasions.
